The Spire Module Development Line provides the necessary equipment and most importantly, the process knowledge transfer to get a University or R&D program up and running quickly with their own small scale PV module manufacturing system, for a reasonable capital investment.
The Spire Module Development Line Includes The Hardware You Need
The line includes the three critical hardware components necessary to produce and develop a world class module. The items are as follows:
 |
Spi-Assembler™
Spi-Assembler 6000 with string transfer, an automatic tabber/stringer with loading of cells and unloading of completed strings. |
Spi-Laminator™
Spi-Laminator 1522, a small footprint vacuum laminator, used to bind the laminate materials together with heat and vacuum. |
Spi-Sun Simulator™
Spi-Sun Simulator 4600, a Class AAA flash tester to verify the electrical output characteristics of the completed module. |

In addition to the line, Spire provides the following:
- Training on the equipment and Module Manufacturing process (one round in Bedford, MA, the second round at your site)
- One basic module design
- A list of the ancillary equipment that would make up a full production line.
- A BoM of typical PV materials.
- Full installation and commissioning of the equipment.
Spire has been in the technology business since it's founding in 1969 and has been focusing on the Solar manufacturing equipment business since the late 1970's. Our years of Research and Development of our manufacturing equipment and PV process have allowed us to be the number one provider of Turn Key PV manufacturing factories in the world. The latest creation, based on the success with those lines, is the lab scale Module Development Line.
