Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary: Responsible for the mechanical designs for Spire Solar automated manufacturing and test equipment. 

• Design, develop and maintain mechanical designs for automated machines
• Analyze existing products for mechanical design improvements to enhance reliability, reduce maintenance and repair time
• Provide trouble shooting and diagnostic support for customers and Customer Satisfaction team as needed.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years machine control automation experience.
• Working knowledge of CE, OSHA, NFPA 79, UL and IEC standards for machinery safety.

Job Qualifications:

• BSME or related field or equivalent, MS preferred
• Experience Mechanical Engineer with 10 years minimum experience in OEM manufacturing environment
• Ability to manage engineering systems including DCO’s and Project Design Management
• Ability to handle multiple projects to a schedule
• Skilled in using CAD software (AutoCAD 2000 or higher, Mechanical Desktop 6.0 or higher and SolidWorks 2004 or higher) for generating and documenting mechanical designs
• Familiar with CE standards for machinery safety
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
