Production Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary: Key responsibilities include manufacturing assembly support, supplier support with ability to recommend equipment or product cost and design improvements. Candidate will be responsible for the technical interface between Manufacturing and all internal groups. Candidate may also be asked to assist with final testing of equipment.
Detailed Job Description:
- Serve as the technical interface between Manufacturing and other departments
- Provide technical support for assembly by recommending tools and cost reduction improvements
- Participate in defining customer orders with Sales and Engineering as required (contract review)
- Assist in defining BOM’s to accurately identify components needed to assemble machines to Customer specifications
- Structure BOM’s into logically grouping of components for standardizing subassemblies or modules for each major equipment group (assemblers, Simulators etc)
- Assist in equipment power up and final testing
- Prepare safe packaging/slipping procedures for Equipment
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, SOP’s for assembly, testing and packaging
- Track and support training of all manufacturing personnel
- Act as backup for equipment software installation and testing as required
- Assure that final customer documentation is complete including DCO’s, BOM’s and OEM manuals
- Support ISO activities and compliance within Manufacturing and Materials departments
- Support documentation control activities as required
- Some travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a related discipline or equivalent experience (15 to 20 years)
- Ten years or greater experience in OEM manufacturing environment
- This job required demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to a schedule and familiarity in Production and ISO systems in a capital equipment manufacturing environment
- Must demonstrate technical competency to be the interface between Manufacturing and internal functions including Engineering and Suppliers as necessary.
- Must have strong skills in written and oral communication, and effectively work with employee and customers
- Familiarity with safety and manufacturing standards related to capital equipment
- Hearing correctible to normal range
- Vision correctable to 20/20
- Fluent in written and spoken English with capability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
- Able t o walk, kneel, bend, or squat unaided and lift up to 50 pounds
- Occasional handling of toxic liquid/gag containers is required, per MSDS and hazmat training protocols
- Ability to use standard tools and material handling equipment
- Overtime and possible weekend work may be required at times
- Proficient in basic computer operations (Windows based software)Ability to travel internationally
